For their 200th episode, those Matt and Trey from South Park decided to make a hilarious 2 part episode that would blow away anything that they have ever done before.  The episodes were not only hilarious recaps of every joke that they have ever done before, but also the instigation of serious lulz in the real world.

Without giving away too much for those who may not have been able to see it yet, the plot focuses around the Prophet Muhammad, and his mystical ability to not be made fun of.  All of the celebrities that have ever been made fun of by the denizens of South Park have banded together to try and steal this power from him.  The main problem comes from the fact that nobody can see the prophet, as terrorists will blow anybody up who does.  This leads to him being carted around in a U-Haul trailer, and wearing a hilarious mascot outfit.

Nothing offensive here...

This quickly lead to what has been called a veiled death threat to appear on the radical Islamic website RevolutionMuslim.com:

We have to warn Matt (Stone) and Trey (Parker) that what they are doing is stupid and they will probably wind up like Theo Van Gogh for airing this show

This has led to a surprise editing of the second half of the 2 special.  Without telling it’s creators, Comedy Central bleeped out all instances of the words “Prophet Muhammad”, and the episode itself not being available to view online.

In the 14 years we’ve been doing South Park we have never done a show that we couldn’t stand behind. We delivered our version of the show to Comedy Central and they made a determination to alter the episode. It wasn’t some meta-joke on our part. Comedy Central added the bleeps. In fact, Kyle’s customary final speech was about intimidation and fear. It didn’t mention Muhammad at all but it got bleeped too. We’ll be back next week with a whole new show about something completely different and we’ll see what happens to it. ~South Park Studios

This has led to even more hilarity, as now people all over are showing support for Matt and Trey.  One noticeable effort has been the creation of a new holiday.  May 20th is now Everybody Draw Muhammad Day.  Feel free to join the cause and tell all your facebook friends about this one too.  Now if only my drawing abilities were above that of stick figures…
