There are a few movies from the 80′s that I really want to see sequels to. Not reimagings or remakes, but actual sequels. Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins is one of them. Unfortunately however, it looks like it’s remake city again…
The orginal was based on the novel The Destroyer, about a cop who was accused of a crime, and sentenced to death. His death was faked, and he was spirited away to undergo intense training in preparation to become a government assassin. The first movie was mostly the origin story, and then the franchise was left hanging. With over 150 novels out there chronicling his adventures, there is plenty to pull from to make more movies. I’m really hoping that they do good on this one, and actually kick off a couple of sequels.
If there is one thing that they do not fuck up in this one, it had better be the iconic fight scene on the Statue of Liberty. It may not have been Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, but it was still awesome.
