Laughing Squid had an interisting article about a photographer who printed his own unofficial license from the Department of Homeland Security.
Now, I fully agree with this gentleman that he is allowed to take pictures in public places. I have no problem with his stance there. I also have no problem with his reccomending that photographers carry a copy of a legal handbook on the subject. The problems that I have arise from the fact that he is trying to pass off a home made license as an official document. Wouldn’t this be a falsified document? Wouldn’t he find himself in more trouble due to flashing his “unofficial” license?
There is a right and a wrong way to do things, and creating a fake license to try and pass off as an official Department of Homeland Security document generally isn’t the right way…
