So, last night, after my jury duty experience, I had some time and one of my favorite bars was open. Usually, it’s closed on my days off, so I haven’t been able to go there in quite some time. First, my dad, my old friend JR and I sat at the restaurant side. I ordered my usual Pittsburgh Steak sandwhich. Now, I’ve heard that everything is bigger in Texas, but I doubt that Texas could rival the size of this beast. Two giant slabs of meat stacked high with tomatoes, fries, and slaw. Just as sandwhiches were meant to be.
Following the meal, my dad went home and JR and I moved to the bar side. Even though I had not been there in forever, the bartender still knew my name, which is always nice. Here, I looked at the impressive beer list, I ordered a Gulden Draak, which was pretty good, and 10.4% alcohol to boot. Rather nice.
The fun part about this bar, is the personal beer list. You sign up, drink a lot of beers to fill up your list, and when you finish it, they put your name on the wall and give you a t-shirt. I think that I should try to get my second listing on that wall in 2009.
That’s a good resolution isn’t it?
